The School of Architecture and Planning at the University of the Witwatersrand put out a competition to design a t-shirt to celebrate the merging of the Department of Architecture and the Department of Town and Regional Planning.
I decided a simple pattern printed on a standard t-shirt was not ambitious enough to mark the occassion.
I proposed a new ‘t-shirt’ (the twisted side seam’) which enhances fit on the body that is reversible (two t-shirts in one) that incorporated the School’s new branding.
Using the t-shirt is to reinforce the structural changes that were being undertaken and the reverible nature allowed more value / mileage out of the garment.
A pattern print could be incorporated onto the 241 (two for one) t-shirt.
